how to check if right number of hairs have been transplanted

How to check the number of grafts transplanted? When a air is transplanted, there is a slit left. Can there be multiple hairs in one slit? I am asking so that i can check the number of hairs actually transplanted by counting no. of slits. I am concerned about the number is because one of my friend had an FUT and he felt that no. of hairs transplanted was half of what the surgeon claimed. Please help me to avoid having treated by frauds.

Most hair transplant surgeons will give you a count based on the number of grafts, rather than hairs, that have been transplanted. Grafts are generally made up of naturally-occurring groupings of hairs, or follicular units. Therefore, each graft will commonly contain 1-3 hairs (and sometimes more). So, to answer your question, yes there should be multiple hairs per 'slit'. Did the surgeon tell you how many hairs your averaged per follicular unit? This would give you a good idea of the actual amount of hair transplanted.

Most docs have the techs give an exact count of how many singles/doubles/multis they do. I review that personally at the end of the case with the patient.

So go back and see if your doc does something similar.

Of course its completely feasible that a doctor can just "fudge" that number. That is why I tell folks to meet the doctor prior to committing to surgery. Most people can get a reasonable impression based on research and a personal meeting, on whether they can trust the doctor or not. If you have a bad feeling go elsewhere.

I tend to be a bit more blunt about everything than many doctors are. I find that alot, but not all, prospective patients like that, and its the way I'd want to be treated. But if you and the doctor are not a good fit, for any important reason---particularly honesty, then continue your investigation with another practitioner.
