    Default Advice sought!!

    Hi,

I have been told by a Turkish clinic that I need 5000 grafts, with 4500 from donor area and 500 from beard. This transpires to 2500 for front, 1500 for mid and 500 for crown.

I have done a lot of research and my worry is overharvesting the donor area.

Numerous patients information and cross-referenced websites throw caution to anything over grafts 4000 from the hair donor region due to the risk of shock loss from overharvesting.

The patient advisor came back with "it is not overharvesting as your donor area is very dense and powerful".

    Any advice/stories on overharvesting?

    He patient advisor also states...

"Basically hair transplant operation consist of three stage (Stage 1-2-3)

Stage 1: Extraction Grafts from donor area

Stage 2: Opening Micro-Channels to receipent area (Other name: Making Incisions to receipent area)

Stage 3: Implantation grafts into new opened micro-channels one by one with manually

Stage 2 is "Surgical Stage" of operation because of that our (Doctor) directly performs this stage.
Dr. X uses sapphire blades (Sapphire Fue Technique) to make incisions.

During Stage 1 and Stage 3 Dr. X supervise his team. All time doctor will stay operation room and manage his team about stage 1 and 3."

(I have concealed the Dr's name as I'm not sure if I'm breaking privacy rules?.)

Is stage 2 the most crucial part? All stages sound crucial to me.

    I may also add....

I asked to speak to someone who has similar hair to me who had the procedure done 6-12 months ago (in order to see if it has worked). They gave me the number of someone who has barely receded (I wont contact him) and someone who was practically bald, but only had his op done recently. They have no other numbers to give of people in need of c.4000 grafts who had the procedure 6-12 months ago, conveniently.

Any thoughts? Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks
