    Getting a hair system

Finally made the decision to get a unit. No hair transplant will give me the look I want.

My question for you experts is, how come some people have their hairs super short on the sides, and some have to grow it long to blend a system? My hair is fine, and sticks out, so I have to grow it longer on sides so it sits down, and blends in. I wish I could trim it shorter on sides, for I like the clean shorter look.

Also, why aren't we seeing more full cap units? Are they not effective?

    Thanks!

    The problem with full caps:
    1. Not as easy to get a natural look. If not properly cut they look like a cap.
    2. Attachment can be troublesome. Particularly around the nape of the neck. The back of a full cap tends to loosen more easily relative to a topper.

If you can get a topper that works for you, you will minimize your issues.

As lvlace says toppers are much easier. Sure some have full caps but they are harder work to keep looking natural and are only an option is you are near bald.

Growing out the sides and back hair is to give the stylist the max help in blending a piece in though most of it will be cut will be cut if going for an undercut or similar.

I think such styles and Ive had it myself look great and natural.

If getting an attachment and cut in with short hair could leave the blend looking unnatural

First fitting today. Didn’t like the length at first, so I actually trimmed it myself down to an inch and a half. I think it looks great. I might have my next unit have a little more curve to it, I feel as if this hairline is too straight.

Well.. That didn't last long. I just wasn't happy. Not with the look, it looked ok. Not 100% tho.

I just felt like I was trading one problem for another. I rather keep my own hair, cut it short and use concealer than to have a costly system that takes a lot of work to maintain.

At least I can say I tried.
