Hair Transplants Being a diabetic ?
Would being a diabetic rule out having a hair transplant?
-
No, as long as your diabetes is under control, it should not rule you out from having a hair transplant procedure. However, you would definitely need to inform your doctor that you are diabetic and tell him or her what medications you are taking, so that they can monitor you closely and take every possible precaution (for example, kenalog would not be included in the anesthesia for a diabetic patient).

IAHRS Recommended Hair Transplant Surgeon
It is true that diabetics can have delayed wound healing. This often is due to a decrease in circulation of the smaller blood vessels that occurs in patients with this condition. You should also discuss with your physician any recent injuries or wounds which may give insight to your current healing capabilities. However, I also have performed successful hair transplantation in many patients over the years who had diabetes.
