    Wearing a hat post care?

I'm 3 days out of my FUT. Thanksgiving gathering today and there is no way I am going unless I can cover my head.

I don't get it, so much conflicting advice. My Dr put a surgical hat on me after he performed the surgery and sent me home. I wore a hoodie and covered my head with the hood flying home the next day. The after care pamphlet says you can wear a hat 3 days after. But I go online and read the complete opposite with others saying one week.

    What do I believe?

I am not wearing a baseball cap because it wouldn't help hide my very swollen both sides of face, was thinking more along the lines of the surgical hat and then a beanie on top of it..easier to hide the swollen sides of my face.

    Perfect timing for this thread

Am scheduled to have mine done on Tuesday, and have the same question, would like to wear a hat or something on the next Monday because of a job,
    that would be day 6

Would also like to hear some feedback of others

My doctors office/rep said it is ok, but of course will speak to the doctor on tuesday,

Per Doctor internet and my Doctor's advice, it takes about 5-7 days for the new grafts to be secure in its place , so there is a chance that your hat can damage the grafts.
I choose to avoid meeting people rather than wearing a hat , i did not wanted to leave any reasons for failure of the transplant , the time and money invested in the procedure is a lo
and there are many reasons you may not get the results , hence I choose to control the reasons and I followed my doctors advice to a letter.
day 6 should be ok , however I was advised that for shorter period its okay but if you are planning to wear the hat whole day , then you must be honest with your doctor and know clearly what could be the risk from your Doctor.
