    Default Permanent or Temporary?

Hey guys, recently (within the past 4 months) I've begun to have hair loss all over my head, except for the back of my head. Oh, and I'm a 20 year old male.

The story actually starts 2 years ago when I thought it would be a cool idea to straighten my curly hair. I did it because I thought my curls looked awful, but I didn't know how to protect my hair. So I straightened my hair for a year and a half without protecting it, then I began to see how thin it was getting. The part in my hair seemed a bit wider than it had ever been, so I stopped straightening it.

Then I started to use Nioxin products to halt the thinning, but at this point it was way worse than it was before (4 months ago). My hairline is intact, but if in the right spot, in the front of my head, you can see though a lot of the hair. Even the sides of my head are very thin, even hair behind my ear can be thin when it's wet. Also, I've read with thinning hair you can get new hairs that are like, well, pubic hairs, and I'm pretty sure I'm seeing some new hairs like that.

So I was wondering if this is temporary; is my hair going through a recovery phase from all the damage I caused? At this point I have no clue, but I'm wondering if I can salvage my hair.

And sorry I don't have pictures, my camera broke ages ago.

    Thanks for the advice.

The only way to really tell is to go to a qualified hair loss expert to see if you are going through male pattern baldness or if your hair loss is caused by chemical damage.
