Default Substandard results after two separate FUE procedures with doctor - try a 3rd?

First FUE was in March 2015. 1000 FUE units. Its was obvious three years later that should have been 2,000 to account for a continually receding hairline as an obvious "no mans land" was starting to appear between the new and the old.

The doctor, then, offered 300 FUE units free of charge to fill that in. That hair, after looking at it now (done 8 months ago), looks to have been horribly spaced. Also noticing that the first surgery's hair also doesnt look spaced correctly. I see many blotches.

In short, the doctors team, by their own accord, state "I showed the images and yes, that is not how Dr XYZ hair transplant are to look at all. I ran this through them and we all agreed on helping you get this fixed. The estimate is that we will require about 800 to 1000 grafts to correct this and leave you looking good. I know they offer you 300 grafts for free and I asked to go beyond that and discount half of the procedure for you.
I am sincerely sorry that the results were not as either you or Dr XYZ expected, but lets get this right together!"

As of now, I do not believe this is something I should pay to have fixed at all. Am considering other, and all options.

    thoughts?

EDIT: I tried Just for men hair coloring of a lighter shade of blonde but it had no effect on the darker hair in the front. If anyone knows of something that works better I am all ears. At the very least, that would help me look half way decent for the next few weeks til I get this fiasco figured out.

EDIT: Personally, Im not sure that even looks like 1,300 FUE units (1,000 original, then another 300). If anyone disagrees feel free to say so.

We need to see before pics. Where did you go? Are you on preventative medications? How old are you?
