Random Hair Shedding/thinning across Scalp? Patches everywhere

Hello all,

For the past few weeks I’ve noticed I have been losing much more hair daily then expected. I know that every loses a bit of hair daily, but for me the rate has doubled, especially when I comb, take a shower, or massage my scalp, I will see like 40 hair strands fall out.

Accompanied with this is also thinner hair, less density, and change in texture.

My hair is curly so my scalp is usually covered, but when its windy, or I part my hair, you can see little bald patches everywhere.

My hairline still seems alright, although not the same as when i was 17 (im 21 now), since my temples have thinned quite a bit.

Is this hairloss across my scalp and change in hair quality a sign of MPB, or is it related to stress/hormones/bad haircare practices or something? I seem to be in good health and am not taking anything, aside from tretinoin cream to help with acne.

I only want to know as I am willing to hop onto fin and minoxidil right away if need be.

Looking at your picture and age in my opinion it looks fine don't forget your teenage hair will always be at optimal but if you think you are losing excessive amount then it is highly recommended to see a dermatologist as they might able to give a more accurate opinion on whether it is start of MPB (male pattern baldness) or something else either way i would not jump right on to finasteride or minoxidil just yet and if i was you i would start of with herbal non drug based supplement or whatever the dermatologist or doctor recommends without going in to pharmacy grade drugs.
