Risk of Switching from Propecia to Generic Finasteride After 25 Years on Propecia?

Hi - I have been on Propecia for 25 years, since I was 19. While I have never perceived new growth, my loss has been very minimal over the 25 years. I am highly concerned about switching to generic due to risk of losing 25 years of progress since I understand that if you stop taking Propecia you lose all cumulative benefit. Any guidance on studies or otherwise about potential risks associated with switching? I know the active ingredient is the same, but even if there is only a 2% chance of a problem I would not make the switch. Thank you for your thoughts on this.

Wow, 25 years on Propecia is amazing. While I can’t say for sure if it will be an issue, I’ve been on generic Finasteride 1.25mg for 9 years and finally lost ground. I doubt that it would have made a difference if i went with the brand, for me its just my sh!t genetics catching up. Im on DUT now, I’m amazed that propecia worked this long for you as it generally loses effectiveness sometime within 1-15 years. Best future wishes!
