    Default Hi

My name is Sarah. I'm 31 years old, and I just had hair transplant surgery last week (I'm exactly 7 days out). I began losing my hair about 7 years ago; it was my mother who first noticed. I ignored it for a LONG time. However, about three years ago, when I was working as an aid in a first grade classroom, one of my students was sitting on my lap and said to me "Miss O! I can see your skull!!" I was HORRIFIED (and relieved, that in fact, it was not my skull, but rather my scalp...semantics, right!??!?). I came home and cried to my mom. I ended up going to a dermatologist who prescribed a blood pressure medicine to try to get the blood moving and get my hair to grow- fail #1. Then I tried Rogaine for Women- fail #2. Then I tried Nioxin- fail #3. Then I tried new hair styles- multiple fails.

I ended up going to a place that specialized in hair replacement. That is where I had my transplant surgery. I'm one week out and still a bit sore, but nothing to write home about. The thing that's bothering me the most is the loss of my current hair; my doctor is calling it shock loss. I'm hoping it stops SOON!!!! Because I really can't afford to lose more hair!

Anyway, it's nice to meet everyone.
