6 weeks post FUE, transplanted hair not falling off - is this normal?

    Hi,

I'm female in my early 40s, and I just did a FUE transplant (1500 grafts via Neograft) about 6 weeks (40 days) ago. They took hairs from back of my head to transplant to crown/vertex area. I've heard from the dr and read from the website that transplanted hairs start falling off after 1-2 weeks, but in my case there were some falloffs but i still have about 60% or more in my head. When I touch them I feel the little hair stubbles and they are strong (like not falling out by touching). I do see maybe 20 transplanted hairs in my sink every morning so they are falling out but a lot slower than what I expected. I started using Rogaine about 1mo post so it shouldn't have affected the hairs before that.

Is this normal? Does it mean it will take longer for the new (healthy) hairs to come out because my understanding is the transplanted hairs have to fall out first to make space for the new hairs to come out? Have other people experienced similar situations before?

    Thank you.
