Telegon Effluvium/Shock loss after small hairline transplant
Hey guys.
New here, but I just wanted some advice and if anyone has ever experienced/known anyone experience this?
on July 12th I underwent an FUE 1000 grafts hair transplant to my hairline, ive been on Finasteride for 9 years and minoxidil every night for the same amount of time.
Now before I had my hair transplant overall my hair was generally thick and had a pretty solid hairline (just wanted it thicker) and the 1000 grafts should be perfect. I had the procedure done, really happy with how it was healing and after day 14/15 I noticed my natural existing hair pretty much all over my scalp (not back and sides) starting thinning out crazy amount, I don't have a problem with density on the top of my scalp but man it thinned out craaaaazy and has been like this till now. on occasions I sometimes can go through a shed when I stress with work etc and it usually always grows back pretty quick! (within a month) I know some shock loss around the hairline is obvious if you have existing hair there, but the shedding is literally all over my head. its really quite scary
Im still just smashing minoxidil 5% twice a day and hoping this will grow it back, if I zoom in I can see loads of small hairs but they are very small and thin at the moment
Anyone help me with this?

one thing I need to add, for the last 20 days I have increased to twice a day minoxidil 5% from just once a day, which may also contribute towards this massive shed?

I'm confused. Are you still taking finasteride? You said you're "still smashing minoxidil..." but you didn't mention finasteride.

Sorry yes I am still taking finasteride have done for 8 years and won’t stop. Generally overall my hair density is fine, but I’m almost certain this is telegon effluvium as I have no thinning a thing my crown/top of my head but it’s thinned our dramatically. Definitely don’t think I’m shedding anymore as no hairs appear to be coming out, maybe 3-4 a day if o wash it

Also to add, the only thing I have changed is minoxidil twice a day instead of once?

Huh?

Joe, I mean, I don't actually have thinning at the crown, however after this hair transplant I appear to have gone through some major shedding and it has also gone on my crown and just all over in general, I do see baby hairs growing back through in areas, but wanted to know if a big shed after a hair transplant (of your existing hair) is normal or not?
