Veteran losing ground: Fin to Dut? Niz 1% to 2%? Other?
Hi all,
New to the forums but have been active in the online hair loss community for 12 years. I am 30 and got on "the big three" when I was about 21. I have held up very well over the past 9 years, but over the last few years I have noticed that I have been losing ground. Specifically, I have a bit more thinning around my hairline than I have had and a small birthmark is less covered by hair than it used to be.
I am wondering if it is worth it to try to move from Fin to Dut or to increase from Niz 1% to Niz 2%? Or perhaps try something else? I have dabbled with other things in the past, like emu oil, shampoos, and even other things, but none were effective and some gave me sides.
I could also perhaps just stay the course and if things get really bad consider an HT, but right now I am about a NW 2.5, which both of my parents are, so I still have a lot of ground to lose before really considering an HT.
Edit: It looks like I posted about this five years ago on this forum. I completely forgot! Nonetheless, I am still losing ground; definitely am worse off than I was five years ago. Hope this doesn't count as a double post!
Thoughts would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Bump. It isn't worth it to up my fin dose before getting on dut right? I have been on 1 mg of fin for about 10 years and going to 2.5 wouldn't really help much, correct? Dut seems the next most logical step. If I started dut, would .5 mg be a good place to start?

Wow ! Looks like this place is deader than dead. Man. What a difference from a few years ago.
Anyway, yeah you will be losing some ground with time. It was the same for me. Fin and Minox for many years were working nicely to keep the hair I had but then the last few years things suddenly went down hill all of a sudden and I was shedding hair by the 100's each day THANKS TO STRESS. Of course, those hairs never grew back and my hair became thinner and thinner but luckily I had had several HTs over the years and now I'd say I've lost whatever hair I was meant to lose and whatever I have now should be all or at least mostly the transplanted hair except in the crown area which I'll probably end up doing at some point.
Dut. never did anything different for me after several months on it.
I think I started my journey with HT when I was the same age as you're now. Don't expect things to get better. You might want to start HTs so you won't have to deal with baldness all of a sudden.

Yeah, I am surprised. I don't know why, but it seems like hair loss forums are dead lately...
I think I still have a while to go before considering an HT. My hair is still decent and there is some minor thinning in places where there weren't in earlier years. The shape of the hairline remains, but the thinning areas are a little bit patcher. Still contemplating whether or not to jump to dut. I will do some research on this and get back to the forum with my decision later, although I don't think anyone on here particularly cares lol
