Default How do I determine what kind of hair loss I'm experiencing?

Hi all, still pretty new here.

How can I empirically determine if I'm losing my hair, and if I am, what kind of hair loss it is? Is the hair dying or just becoming dormant, from what parts of the head am I losing most hair, etc.

If this requires a doctor visit, I live in NJ so anything within the surrounding states is viable. Thank you!
