    Default Advice on hair transplant

    Hi
Iam 24.5 years old currently. I have aggressive diffuse thinning. Cannot consume finasteride and minoxidil because isotretinoin, a chemical which causes similar symptoms to post finasteride syndrome took my life.

Can you guys suggest the best action for me to take? The hair loss is still active but I can't take any steps to stop it (if there is some chemical which doens't cause side effects please let me know).
As you can see its also diffuse hair loss. The good thing I might have going for me is I do have a good? donor area. the sides have also thinned from my original thickness but I don't see any loss from there as of yet.
I am in India and would preferably be looking for clinics near Delhi. If you guys do end up suggesting HT for me, is there some consensus on the better ones there. Eugenix, Dr A, Tejinder Bhatti, etc?

Also please don't hesitate to ask me for more info, I can update as needed. Thank you so much.

Could you describe what side effects you got from isotretinoin?

Also pictures of the sides and back of your head would help others give you advice.

Looking at your pictures the great news is that your donor hair at least on the sides is thick which means you could have good results with FUE.

I understand not using Finasteride but I would consider using Minoxidil 5 % twice a day. It’s been around for years and I’ve never seen any evidence it causes symptoms similar to Finasteride 1MG apart from a few stories online.

I actually used minox from 2013 to 2017. I also thought its safe since its topical. Sadly thats a lie, there are people who developed the same symptoms from using it. It definitely had a hand in me developing post iso syndrome.

My main concern is that im pretty sure i will lose all the hair on top sooner rather than later. Do you think I have enough donor area to cover it all.

Also any other advice on what i should ask, what i should do?
Thanks so much helios for hour advice

Do you have any scientific literature that suggests minoxidil has sexual side effects? I’ve never been able to find any so if you have anything scientific just let us know.

I would contact a respectable surgeon and get their advice. Most likely they will tell you to wait a few years before having surgery, until at least late twenties because right now they can’t be sure how much hair you will lose.

At your age, and this degree of loss with the adverse issues you've referenced, I have high doubts as to your long term candidacy. Your hair is a bit too long to make an accurate assessment regarding your donor density as you can have thick hair due to the coarseness rather than the density, especially when grown long. The only treatments I can suggest are PRP and laser therapy since you've exhausted the medical treatment options. But surgically, absolutely not, at least for now, and maybe consider having a much shorter haircut so that the thinning isn't as obvious. You may wind up liking the style a lot which will make the issue less frustrating.

I agree with Joe in that I feel a much shorter hair cut would look 100 times better. Shorter and neater is always best when you have obvious thinning.

Have you looked in to cover products such as pro-thik or dermamatch? a little bit of hair and a little application of the right cover product can really do wonders-- especially with shorter hair.

    Something to consider.
