Default How long between hair transplants, and how long can the hair be for a FUT procedure?

    Hi there,

    I have two questions.

    1. How long should a person wait between their first hair transplant and their second?

    2. Is it possible to have an FUT with somewhat long hair? I know the donor area has to be shaved but if the hair around it is long enough, it could conceal the site pretty well post op, right?

I'm very happy with my first procedure but I'd like to fill in the crown and maybe add a little density to the front if possible.

    Hi ya

Ideally you want to wait a minimum of 12 months in order to allow your body to heal and for all the hair to grow in and mature so that if needed you can then tweak and refine it with the second session.

This is possible yes - several surgeons provide the non shave option but important to understand there might be slightly higher risk of shockloss to the recipient area.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks Spex! That is tremendously helpful. It sounds like I should prepare for a shorter hairstyle prior to my second procedure. If I'm going to go to all that trouble again, I want the best results possible.
