Default Am I showing signs of MPB or just thinning hair??? Paranoid and really worried

I’ve just recently noticed that my crown seems a bit thin but have never really kept track of it in the past. Neither have I kept track of my hairline but I have a small widows peak which worries me. I have however noticed that my hair has gotten slightly thinner over the past couple years. Am I just making a big deal out of nothing or should I go see a specialist?

I see small cause for concern in the first picture of your crown - though nothing to be crazy alarmed about. The hairline looks solid to me, though without pictures from a year or so prior to compare it's hard to say. And before I say anything else, really listen to this: If you are losing your hair, trust that you will handle it and it will all be ok. It can be stress inducing in the beginning, but you have access to lots of research and fantastic doctors who can support you with either medication, topical solutions, or hair restoration.

How old are you? If you're reaching the average age where MPB may start to present itself, I would go see a specialist. If you go to a qualified HT Surgeon, they can do miniaturization tests on your hair, go over family history, and get a pretty good idea of where you may be heading in regards to MPB. Once you have all this information, you'll know the best route to take... And also be open to the possibility that things are completely normal and you have nothing to be alarmed about. Best of luck. I hope this helps.

I’m currently 20 years old. I added some more pictures for a better look. It could be the fact that I had just washed my hair so my scalp was more visible than usual but I still am concerned. I’ve been on vacation so some days my scalp gets a bit burned which makes it look a bit worse in my opinion. My dads side of the family has no history of my balding and my mother’s side only started balding in their 60’s. Should I immediately go see a specialist or wait a couple months and take pictures?

Keep an eye on it over the next few months. It definitely looks more pronounced in certain pictures - and again, I reiterate that there's nothing to panic about. Take pictures in the same lighting, settings, conditions every 2 weeks (don't do i more frequently than that or it can become obsessive) and then see if you start seeing a difference.

Great thank you very much. I am pretty sure my hairline hasn’t receded over recent years but my hair has thinned. I’ll keep a watch for it over the next couple months
