Transplant approach
At 30 years old and Having been taking medication for years for hair loss I’m thinking about a whole new approach. As medication can only slow down hair loss I’m thinking of stopping it and just getting transplants when I feel is needed and I can’t conceal certain areas. I have already had 1 transplant on the frontal area with great success. If money is no object and you have a great donor area would this be a good way to go?

Most places will want you to stay on the meds. Eventually you will run out of donor hair to fill in the gaps which is why you want to stay on the meds.

I would hope by that point I will be old enough and at a point of my life that it wouldn’t matter as much

Surgery is a last resort. The more hair you can keep via medical therapy then the fewer HT you will need.
For me its an absolute NO brainer. Stay on the meds and keep away from surgery as long as possible.

Just out of curiosity, with how good transplant are nowadays,
And the fact your putting hair there that actually stays there, why would it be a last resort?

You are trying to cover a area with limited donor supply. What will your hair look like at 40 or 50? Once you get off meds you may need to cover 70 percent of your head with 30 percent donor hair. As you get older you will care what you look like maybe more than now.
Listen to Spex he sees the mistakes people make and the ruined lives everyday.

It’s ok to just say stay on the meds but who knows what effect the meds are having on your body over a long period of time. That’s why I thought I’d ask about transplants especially with how good transplants are now.
