You need protein to benefit hair and nails. A vegan diet will not offer this. Whey protein is a great source of protein for hair and nails.Comment

I've been vegan for 24 yrs and vegetarian for 11 before that, but I started receding 2 years before that when I was still a meat eater, ive just had my bloods done and all was perfect and I don't take vitamin supplements, I get my protein from the same place that animals that humans eat get their protein, I know you won't believe it, but its called plants. As for needing whey in your diet..well that's just propaganda by nutritionists who are rather blinkered, if we as a species were meant to wean from a cow our mothers would be cows.Comment

There are plenty of vegan protein foods but don’t have enough amino acids that are found in meat.Comment

Snap, so long as your getting your vitamins and amino acids you are ok. The same applies for bald men that eat meat, I think meat makes people more bald as it contains chemicals and steroids they inject into animals.Comment

I was never advocating that a vegan diet would stop hair loss, but I bought a masticating juicer about 4 months ago and have noticed a few rogue hairs growing above my old hairline which surprised me as I'm norwood 6 and been bald in that area for at least 20 yrs. So currently I juice a lemon and lime, ginger, kiwi fruit, kale, spinach, celery, radishes, apples, oranges, pairs, mango and beetroot all at the same time, doesn't taste too bad. I change it slightly depending on what I can pick up cheap at the stores. A raw vegan diet is easier for our bodies to extract the nutrients we need, nearer to how our bodies were tens of thousands of years ago before we stumbled upon cooked animal flesh.Comment
