Deleted my first post because I read yours wrong.
This looks to me like a hair transplant that stuck around while all the native hair that it was transplanted within was lost to MPB. Are you on Fin?

Better to ask doctor what happened.

I'm also curious what preventative you've taken since the surgery was completed? Was there every a period where you were satisfied with the results?

I would say not. Since the hair started coming in thick, probably around the end of 2015, there's always been a distinct gap between the old hair and the starting of the new hair that is extremely visible. Although the doctor cannot predict the intensity or timing of MBP, I have a feeling that the grafts should have been placed further back on the scalp, to account for the continuation of MBP as to "buy more time," so to speak.
The way I see it now, it's safe to assume MBP would continue and you would think the doctor would also agree it will continue, therefore it would make sense to "mix" in the new with the old and as far as I can tell, that did not occur, as the new hair stopped at the end of the old, although it "looks" like it was mixed in only because my old hair I had grew out pretty long to try and hide the receding hairline
Like I said, thats my view right now. I could be right. I could be wrong.
So far I havent used any other hair products to keep what I have. I knew it would continue to recede but from everything I can tell, very little if any was transplanted in with the old hair as there has always been a goofy circular line directly behind the new hair
