    Default Thinking about starting propecia

Thinking about starting propecia/fin to stabilize mild hair loss...I’m 52 and had some recent stresses (loss of wife) 16 months ago. This stress has started what appears to be MPB. I’m concerned of sides, any thoughts, side effects, concerns to report ? Can I purchase from net ? Do I need drs care while on it ? Can I get from GP or do I need to go to hair doc?
Any suggestions for hair dr in San Diego/Orange County . Thank you for any info or thoughts

I had horrible sides to fin. I took for all of 3 weeks before I had to stop. I felt castrated. It took 5 or 6 weeks to get my mojo back.

I had horrible sides as well. When I saw they could be permanent, I got the FK out of dodge...

    Can't say I recommend it!

Speaking as someone who experienced mild sides, I still say that the chances of experiencing them is relatively small. The vast majority of people who take it don't have side effects. It has been extremely effective in stabilizing hair loss for millions of men, so it's definitely worth considering. The only way to know for sure if you'll experience sides or not is to try out the medication - and yes, under a doctor's supervision. Dr. Mohebi in LA is fantastic, especially if you are considering a HT sometime down the road.

As for whether or not you should try Fin, it really comes down to a personal choice about what you're willing to risk and how much stabilizing your hair loss means to you. There's no right or wrong answer. The medication works, the risks of sides are low, and if you're at peace taking the medication to stabilize your hair loss, then I'd say give it a go - but ultimately, the choice is yours.

I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA. My opinions/comments are my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Dr. Mohebi and his staff.
