Clinically Low DHT Before Starting Finasteride Dosage Question

A little about me and my story. I'm 41 and had a severe TE shedding event from a crash diet a couple of years ago. I was able to recover some of the hair lost, maybe 30%. I had a complete hormone workup done a month ago and went to a dermatologist last week to get things checked out. She is pretty certain that I have recovered all the hair that I am going to at this point and prescribed Finasteride 1 mg ed. So, here is my question and were I am needing some advice. My DHT levels came back clinically low at 27 ng/dl and yet it is still affecting my hair. Does anyone have any idea of what DHT range does not affect hair growth? Should I be trying to lower it slightly or nuke it to zero?

Also, my hair loss is mostly diffuse thinning and my hair line is exactly the same as it was 20 years ago just thinner. I am wondering if I could get away with using a low does of Finasteride. I plan on tapering onto the drug either way.
