Default How worth is hair transplant WITHOUT taking Finasteride?

From what I've read Finasteride and hair transplant go hand in hand. Basically Fin is used to prevent the non-transplanted areas from keep on falling. But what if you have already lost all the hair you were gonna lose. I think my hair has been stable for the last 3 or 4 years. Do I need Finasteride also after the HT?

What I'm asking is what percentage use Fin after their HT and if the procedure is worth it if you won't take Fin afterwards? Any personal experiences of patients with the surgery done and NOT taking Fin because of side effects or other motives?

    Hey man,

Its certainly doable however each patient scenario is very different so impossible to say if its advisable for you.
Your own loss pattern is yours and no one else so important you get your head round you potential loss pattern based on your genetics and discuss at length with several surgeons what your options are short /long term without finasteride to make an informed decision.

It is subjective. Depends on the amount of loss and how much progression of hairloss is forecasted. If you think you will lose more native hair after a procedure, the. It may be worthwhile to take. If you think you should be ok, then you may not have to take it. Note this though, if any body hairs, beard hairs are utilized and grafted, you may not be able to use finasteride ever again as it reacts poorly with those hair types and you can risk a complete fall out with those hairs.
