Default 22 Years old Asian, need advice

    Hi all,

Am I having hair loss in my crown area? I am only 22 and there is no sign of balding in my entire family. My hair dresser told me that my top part is thinning as I use to have very thick hair. Below are those pic I took recently after a hair cut. Please I really need some advice.

    Thanks.

Was this hair dresser one who you have used for a while? In other words, have they noticed a change?

This could be early crown loss. Luckily propecia has a pretty high rate of success in filling in balding crowns, so you may want to consider starting that.

    Hi mattj,

Yup, it was a hair dresser that I used to visit, and he is the one who told me that my hair is getting thinner on top before i noticed it, so is this early stage of crown balding? Is there anyway to confirm it?

    Thanks

Well, a doctor (or someone who knows what they are looking for) can inspect for miniaturization of hairs in the region (shout if you don't know what miniaturization is), but if your hairdresser has noticed a change then I would say you are probably exhibiting early crown loss. You do seem to be showing more than the average amount of skin in that area.

I'd say it's minimal at the moment. You found it early. If you start taking the drug finasteride (propecia or proscar) then there is a chance that if you respond well, you'll see that small area of crown loss thicken up. Finasteride can do wonders for the crown region.

Sonia2012, I'm going to save you a lot of time and effort. Normally, I would prey on a poster like you because scam baiting is a hobby of mine, but in your case I can't be bothered.

You've come to a site called the 'Bald Truth Talk.' It's name originates from its mission to inform men and women suffering from hair loss of what the two currently available treatments are (propecia and minoxidil), what else works (dutasteride/avodart and ketokonazole) and to ensure that as few desperate bald people as possible succombe to scams and shoddy products on the internet. It also informs people on future treatments (for example Histogen).

Admittedly, a long thread on the totally unproven TRX2 has been allowed to proliferate, for which I must to some extent be blamed, though it has done so based on my advice that it's expensive and not guaranteed to work (I just liked the reputations of the people behind the project enough to try it and other people followed suit).

As a result, the people on this forum are extremely well informed and won't buy a product from someone who suddenly appears and hijacks every thread trying to sell a dodgy looking product.

Therefore, I strongly advise you to bugger off to your local flea market to sell your snake oil to morons.
