    Unhappy Not happy with results

I had hair transplant 16 months ago and am very disappointed. Before I did this, I shaved it, but always wished I had hair. Now, seeing these terrible results, I wish I hadn’t done it. It is the greatest undoable mistake.

Worse yet, the doctor convinced me to do FUT because I needed to get more grafts. I had over 12,000 grafts implanted and this is the result. I wish I could turn back the clock and just shave it again. My hair continues to come out on the sides and I don’t want to have 3 or 4 more surgeries just to end up worse then now.

What can I do to fix the FUT scar so I can go back to shave it at a #1 and not feel humiliated about my vanity?

    Default Correction

I actually can’t remember exactly how many transplants. The scar is from ear to ear. I have never shaved it, but my haircutter says it would be very noticeable if I were to trim to a #1

Oops. It was 2000 hairs, not 12000. Can someone direct me where to start? A dermatologist? Another hair transplant surgeon. Should I plan to go across the country for it?

    Thanks in advance 😊

    Hi Dave,

To be honest, I don’t think the doctor botched the job, I just didn’t realize or was not informed at how little coverage I would get. At this coverage, I would have to have several more surgeries to get it right.

I cannot photo the FUT scar because my hair is too long to show it. When I step out of the shower, I can see the line across the back of my head.

I feel at this point, my best option would be to cover the scar and trim it short.

Any thoughts on where to start finding someone reputable to do this? Should I just talk to a local dermatologist?

DO NOT GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST they are useless. Did the clinic you went to tell you what it was going to look like or give you some kinda expectations? Did you have that tuff before they started or is that new?

Contact Dr. Cole for some options:

A little after the surgery, they indicated that I needed to be patient. They did not tell me how scant the coverage would be. The tuff was mostly there before, but I lost all of my natural hair after the procedure. The clinic indicated that it should grow back, but nothing has come back. I wouldn’t mind just shaving at this point as I can’t see much more coming out of another surgery.

I will contact Dr Cole. Thank you so much for helping 😊

Sorry for bad experience with FUT. I wish you had Fue instead of FUT.
