Default Starting to thin, jump on minoxidil now?

Recently purchased kirkland foam because I have read its most effective after countless google searches, however after lurking these forums I am second guessing using minoxidil at all.
I have noticed my hair thinning for years, as to why I keep it low now. But only recently I started getting small hairs, which is why I want to act on it now.
24 and at least want to make it to 30 before I skin my head if possible..

Would you guys recommend minox, or is their more horror stories that outweigh its benefits?
