minoxidil and finasteride

Hi all

I have recently lost hair due to telogen effluvium after a tragic event in my life, this his happened to me twice before and what i have learnt from them 2 experiences is that any miniaturized hairs that survived the te episode, will soon come back on there own in about 3 months once you overcome the stress and it is no longer there, however like before there are also a lot of hairs that have completely fell out and are no longer visible giving the appearance of bald spots, does anyone know if minoxodil or finasteride can revive hair even after it has gone past miniaturization and completely fallen out?. i dont want to just give it a go as the side effects from the 2 drugs. can any of the senior members give there input?

no i have not had any tests done i just no it is stress as no one in my family has mpb, also my hair only falls out after extremely stressful periods this is is something i have observed, however i am booked to see a trichologist on the 13th.

thank you for the advice, will what you said help bring back hair that has fallen out or will it just help to revive the miniaturized hair that is left?
