Hair Transplant in the UK 1,120 Grafts via FUE - Bad Result?
Hi All
Long time lurker first time poster here. I apologise in advance for the long post! I was hesitant about posting to be honest as I am quite embarrassed but I really need some help and advice so here goes...
I am UK based and I decided to go for an FUE procedure at a clinic in London (They have clinics elsewhere) around 7 months ago, so I am just over 7 months post-op. I was told I had got 1,120 grafts. I thought I did my research and went to a few different consultations but looking back after the fact I have realised that I rushed in really and did not do nearly enough research at all. I also understand that unfortunately this is quite common.
There is no excuse as I say I have been a lurker on here for some time and I am also on Propecia, which I researched probably more before taking the plunge, than I did before my FUE...stupid I know! Feeling so stupid is one of the worst parts of it all.
The procedure seemed to go ok on the day (although I was pretty anxious) and everything healed well and the hairs fell out etc all as expected. The hair started re-growing again around 3 months post-op (again all normal). However as things grew out I started to notice that my hairline did NOT look natural and looked far too straight across and artificial.
It has only gotten worse as its grown more to be honest not better. For some reason when I get it cut it looks a bit better for a short while but then looks bad again. I have thought about buzzing it down all one length to try and make it look better but I am not sure if this will make things worse?
I am already thinking I am going to have to get it repaired and have looked at Dr Ball from The Maitland Clinic who seems like a very good Dr and highly regarded and also Dr Feriduni in Belgium who also looks very good.
My question is this, does it look THAT bad, i.e. as bad as I see in the mirror? Which is to say BAD. And if I had to get more work done, in your opinion how many grafts am I looking at as a ball park figure? 500 perhaps spaced around the existing hairline? I know it is hard to say.
Also I know this sounds stupid, but WHY exactly does it look so unnatural? I can't see many multi unit grafts in the hairline when I look in the mirror but perhaps they will be clearer to you guys. Is it just too straight or have the hairs been placed in the at the wrong angle?
