Is this a sign of hair thinning/balding?

Currently 21 years old and an Asian male. It wasn't too long ago that my mum pointed out why the crown on top of my head looks to be fading and since then, I'm constantly worried that it could be signs of balding. Attached below are some of the pictures.

In terms of hair loss, I've been monitoring it and there's no red flags to suggest any signs. Pillows are clean of any hair. Shower tub only has a few 7-8 strains of hair and that's about it.

There was an article that I found that says it could be related to stress and poor diet. Coincidentally, I'm currently doing my masters and been focusing on intensive research and projects work day in, day out leading me to sleep late at night and skipping breakfast, perhaps foregoing all the nutritional diet.

Any thoughts?
