my first hair system
Hi guys. So im ready to purchase my first hair system.Ive researched totalcoverplus and cochrane and co. They'll do a great job im sure, but its really not afforable for me. So I am thinking about buying a swiss lace one from some place in London (perhaps UKhairsystems.com) and then visiting a salon to do the cutting.
Can anyone recommend some salons who are good at this stuff in west London (im near richmond so visiting central london and paying £150 every visit makes no sense to me).
Some names flying about are oneheadhair and ukhairsystems, but other suggestions or cost effective ways for newbies like me to get a decent job done without being expoited are welcome!

Vince, it can be daunting to start but a supplier with good advice and support is a big help. I have been using UK Hair Systems for a few years.
They have two salons in London that do all the cutting. One in West London (the one I use through them) and the other in North.
I think the West London one charges around £120 (to attach and cut in) or £70 (for the cut in -what I get).
Let me know if you need more help.

hi again grincher. can you give me details of the west london salon?

Also.. as my back and sides are thinning a little, i am thinking of getting SMP there. Any issues with this you can see? I am usually a grade 1 or 2 on the back and sides and have my scalp hair tapered a bit.

Hi Vince, I can't see any issue with SMP though its helpful to grow your hair out for the cut in so the stylist has more to work with.
Both salons only cut UKHS pieces so probably best to drop them a line.
I can't PM you here else I would send details in private.

I went with Onehead, they are not cheap, but the results were PERFECT.
I have heard good things about UKhairsystems.com. Why swiss lace and not french? The swiss does not last nearly as long, and the french will do the job, nicely in most situations.
Totalcoverplus is TERRIBLE!!! Most of the systems are absolutely awful from what I have seen on Youtube. I would stay away.

thanks so much for the heads up guys (no pun intended!!!). Im trying to call ukhairsystems but they just dont answer their mobile phones! How do you manage to remain in touch with them?
Grincher, is there a way to get the salon details somehow?

Grincher- I’m trying to send you a pm as I’d like details on the salon in West london. But it’s not letting me, saying I don’t have permissions to send or receive messages. Any idea why?
