Default Is my hair transplant a failure? - FUT

I am currently 11 months into a FUT hair transplant where 3,000 grafts were transplanted and it appears that only 50-60% of the grafts that were transplanted actually ended up growing at this mark.

At the 6 month mark I did not have substantial growth, so I thought I was a slow grower and remained patient. While I did see steady hair growth over the next 5 months, I am clearly nowhere near where I wanted to be at the end of the procedure.

While I understand that the hair that I have will thicken over the next few months, I did not receive the yield that I was hoping for.

While I have read different posts about slow growers, I have not seen any new growth for the last 2-3 weeks and have concluded that my hair transplant has been a partial failure.

The surgeon has offered to fix the hair transplant as my scarring line does not look particularly pretty either (I didn't post any pictures, but the scar is still visible) and has offered a new hair transplant for a vastly reduced price.

I feel very disappointed given that I haven't seen any new growth but wanted to reach out to the forum and get their opinion regarding the transplant.

You may not want to have something fixed by the Dr. that gave you a result you don't like. There are no before pictures so can't really judge the results. Did you research this Dr. and does he have good results?

It's difficult to judge without seeing photos from before the surgery. I think that you needed more than 3000 grafts with your level of hairloss and even a successful procedure would look thin with that number of grafts.

Actually, at 11 months, you wont really get substantial new growth. Thickening and maturing happens here and there, but based on your pics, there seems to be issues with the quality of this procedure. Have you reached out to the doctor?
