I'm 28 and I have have noticed my crown's thinness for about 8 years now, but over the past year it seems more noticeable. It's always red, itchy, and the rest of my scalp also gets itchy. I went to the Derm who said "I can't tell if it is MBP, but your crown seems thinner than I would expect from a person your age without MPB". She said to try Nizoral and maybe Rogaine.
I can't tell that the hairline has receded much at all. I've used Nizoral 3-4 times but it seems to aggravate my scalp even more. I'm nervous of Rogaine because of the possible shedding and I can't tell if my crown's thinning is enough to warrant going on Propecia. I've decided that I'm willing to risk taking Propecia if it comes to it. Most of my mother's side has good hair and I was surprised when the Derm said they couldn't tell if it was MPB. Thoughts? Do you think this is MBP? Is Propecia worth trying based on these photos? Most of these are in direct light, dry hair and no product.
