Default Shaving off failed hair transplant

Hi there, basically I rushed into a hair transplant about a year and a half ago where they lowered the hairline quite a bit. The results have not been good at all though and only about 40% of the hairs grew in if that. The hair on top of my head is extremely thin now and I think I just need to shave it off with a 0 guard and get on with my life. The donor area scarring is fine and I'm not worried about that. I'm more worried about what the sparse thin transplanted hairs will look like, please help as it's killing me!

I think you can shave it no problem. I would also notify your Doctor, as few Docs like unhappy patients and are willing to work with you to find a solution.

Thanks folks, I'm going to go for it tonight, I was just worried the transplanted area at the front would stick out a mile and look stupid. Here's praying it doesn't😂

I would guess so long as you keep it short , really short, all the time , and don't have a big ugly scar on the back of your head , no one will know you had any work done

If you're sure that your donor will look fine then I say go for it. I'm certain that your hair on the top (including the transplanted areas) will look better short. Please update us with photos once you've done it

I agree that as long as the donor area looks fine, the front will definitely look better short. I'd love to see photos as well.

I'm bummed that you didn't have a positive hair transplant experience and good results. Looking back, what do you think went wrong? Did you hastily choose an inexperienced surgeon? Or did he have a great track record and you just happened to get unlucky? And did he provide any explanation for why it didn't pan out the way it should have? While it's great that you may be satisfied with buzzing your hair and moving on, with the time and money already invested in this, I wish you had a hairline to show for it.

You were planning to do it last week. Did you go ahead with it?
