As part of Dr. Epstein's charitable work, he routinely performs pro bono reconstructive surgery for children who have suffered burns.
Here is a set of before and after photos of Addison, who at 2 years of age lost over half of her scalp from an oil burn. Starting at 7 years of age, Dr. Epstein performed a total of 3 reconstructive surgeries, the first two involving tissue expansion to essentially stretch out her "good" scalp which was then used to cover over the scarred scalp which was excised. The third procedure was with hair grafts, which at the time of these photos had just started to grow out.
