Finasteride: Reduced dosage = Better Results?

So I'm trying a reduced dosage with Finasteride, below are results I'm feeling:

1mg - more shedding and thinner hair
0.25mg less shedding and hair feels much thicker.

Has anyone heard of a reduced dosage of Finasteride working better in Hair loss? and even causing more growth?

Before taking Finasteride my DHT levels marked as high in a blood test.

So why is the reduced dosage of Finasteride producing better results?
