Scared to try finasteride again(not because of the sides)

Hi everyone,So i started taking finasteride around january and in the second week of taking it I developed dermatitis and terrible shedding.I stopped taking it after three weeks.I still have dermatitis that is under control,and im now shedding ONLY small lightly pigmented hairs that are all the same size(around 3 mm),and im not shedding thick hairs at all.My doctor told me it must have been minoxidil but I am not really sure about that.Ive had dermatitis before that and It was really hard to get rid of.Maybe its the hormonal change that causes dermatitis?
