Shedding with Nizoral 2% and Caffeine Conditioner
I take small does of finasteride and use minoxidil twice a day. Just under two months ago I switched to Nizoral 2% (every 3rd day) and PURA D'OR Hair Thinning Therapy Conditioner (everyday) as it contains caffeine and I’m told that helps. [Previously I was using Regenpure DR (has 1% ketoconazole, I think) and Silk 18 conditioner every day.]
I’ve experience significant shedding in the month after that switch. Really noticeable on the hairline. Is it possible this a shed for new growth? If so, how long should I stick with the 2% to see? It’s been almost 2 months and it’s definitely worse.
Or alternately, is this a bad sign and I should stop Nizoral immediately? I don’t notice any redness or signs of inflammation or anything.
Thanks.

I would rotate nizoral with Regenepure DR, as nizoral dries your scalp but is very good. I rotate Nizoral, Regenepure, Revita. Also if you scalp becomes dry moisturize it with hair oils or coconut oil.

Thanks, Jazz1.
How do I know if my scalp is dry? There's no visible redness or flaking.
Should I just occasionally treat with coconut oil as a precaution?
