Potential damage to grafts 5 weeks after surgery?

    Hello,

I am 5 weeks post my 2nd FUE transplant, of 2,000 grafts to the frontal area. Today I went to get a haircut at a new place, and told them specifically not to cut the top with clippers. However, they cut the sides (donor area) quite forcefully with clippers. Now I am very worried. I know doctors say that you can trim that area with clippers after 1 month, but they still tell you to wait 5 months to see full recovery of the donor area before doing another procedure, so I'm worried it might still be possible to damage the donor area at this stage.

    My questions are:

    1) Could pushing the clippers too hard against the scalp cause any damage to the donor area 5 weeks post-op?

    2) Would a comb being used on the transplanted area pose a risk of dislodging grafts after 5 weeks (the barber combed the hair in the area the grafts were transplanted). Would it have to bleed for any damage to happen?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Generally bleeding occurs when a graft is lost and this would be very unlikely to happen at 5 weeks. As for your donor area, I see no need to worry. It is healed enough that the clippers aren't going to be knocking scabs off before they're ready.
