    Generic NOT the same. Help

Me: Perfect hairline-just diffuse crown thinning
May 2017 obtain 1 month Brand name Propecia
-Full blown side effects even with 1/4 tablet a day.
-Can feel the stuff working: Brain fog, follicle tingles
Switch over the Generic - June 2017
No more symptoms hair fall is consistent and thinning has barely improved

I'm growing suspicious after almost 7 months on 1mg generic vs the 2 months on 1/4mg to 1/2mg Brand name Propcia
The tablets are same in shape but different in consistency.

Brand Name propecia (when split) displays a glassy-white internal appearance while the generic is obviously a pressed powder.

My Rx is at Healthwarehouse.com and they charge:
    100ct Generic - $18.00
    100ct Propecia - $340.00

    HELP...

I've been noticing this with a lot of patients since around 2006. Your'e not imagining this. To save money, buy 5mg tablets of Proscar, which is the original version of finasteride and came out before Propecia by the same manufacturer. Cut the pill into quarters and this will mean you're taking roughly 1.25mg per dose but you can break this down to every other day or even only twice a week to see how you respond.

I tried to get Proscar but my doctor denied. So I went to another doctor from the same medical group who also denied me 5mg Proscar even after explaining my plan to save money. They both insisted the generic is just as inexpensive. Both of them prescribed me 4-100ct 1mg; consecutively.
Now I am out of the country attending a foreign med school and we have to ship our medications through family as provisions are scarce.

Has anyone had experience with Accord Healthcare's 1mg generic? They seem like a great company but I question the efficacy of their 1mg product. I've heard great things about their 5mg Proscar generic.
