Minor bleeding 5 weeks after HT
Hey All,
All in all I've had a strong recovery from the HT. I've followed all the post-op guidelines and generally, everything has healed ok.
However, I have a had a few pimples in the recipient area that have burst and created small scabs.
I was washing my hair today and one of these scabs came off. The scab had several hairs attached to it and when I had dried my hair there was a minor amount of surface bleeding under this scab (similar to when you squeeze a spot).
This happened 5 weeks post HT. Have I damaged a graft here? Everything I read says bleeding is a bad sign, however, I have also read grafts are secure after 2 weeks.
Any help would be awesome!

Grafts are fully secure by two weeks (earlier in fact) so I wouldn't connect the bleeding with the loss of any grafts. It isn't uncommon to have pimples after a transplant and these pimples can bleed like any other type of pimples.

Exactly what Matt said, so don't stress. The grafts are secure, the pimples are normal, and any bleeding/hairs your see as a result of those pimples won't impact your grafts at all.
Keep your head out of the sun and keep your scalp clean to help keep the pimples away. Happy growing.

Haha. Been there many times, man. Whether it's my hair or any other perceived health issue that makes me think I'm probably gonna die within a couple of weeks... The older I get though the better I've gotten at keeping all that anxiety at bay and talking myself off of all those proverbial ledges.
