Hair straightening with not directly leads to hair loss. Actually, you are not applying straighter to alive parts of the hair. The alive parts are actually on the scalp, inside the skin surface from where the growth occurs. Straightening can damage your hair and hence pulldown action can cause some hair loss.

There are various disadvantages of Hair straightening, below are some of the main disadvantages

    • No volume.
    • Hair thinning.
    • Looks like you have a wig on for a good 2 months.
    • High maintenance. You have to use a hair straightening shampoo.
    • After a year, your straightened hair is damaged. Too many split ends, breakage.
    • expensive. Buy a good straightening iron instead.
    • irreversible. If you hate your hair, you cant change it.
    • It takes around 6 hours to straighten your hair.
    • Chemicals, lots of them, are used. Apparently they break your natural hair bonds and form new ones.(Correct me if I am wrong.) It shouldn't be done frequently.
