About the different directions I could really understand it... though: Isn't it a "strategical" problem anyway that cuticles of a each single hair knotted in the middle would always tangle with itsself, as one half of the hair having the cuticle inwards, the other half outwards the hairpiece?

Hopefully he IS kidding! This is pure nonsense. I suppose we are supposed to believe that China's suppliers go door to door a billion times (population of China over 1 billion) cleaning out peoples drains. Really? Hair is readily available and cheap. Recycling drain hair would be cost prohibitive. Plus......the statement ignores the fact that the increasing labor costs in China have forced many Chinese manufacturers to now outsource production to Vietnam and Cambodia (and perhaps other countries). The hairpieces may go through China, but, one should not assume they are made in China.

You are quite correct regarding the direction of cuticles during ventilation. A single strand of hair produces "two" hairs from the knot. The cuticles thus run in opposite direction. I have been ventilating for over 8 years. Would love someone to show me how to keep the cuticles in sync. It is really a moot issue anyway because during the processing of the hair prior to coloring the cuticles are stripped from the hair.
