Man, that was a really fast change over those couple years. Sure it was rough. Not sure Rogaine is going to do much given that amount of loss. Looks like you do have good donor but that is a large area to cover, wouldn't totally rule out a transplant but might be hard to get total coverage. Shaving is the best option if you can just do that and move on but understand it's hard to lose your hair that young. Yes you are a Norwood 6.

I agree with Steve. You could try Finasteride for a year and see what happens, if you can keep what you have maybe future treatments like replicel would work better. Replicel may be out next year in Japan so I would wait for that before I considered a HT.

Wow... that is pretty significant, although it is possible that had you buzzed a few years ago, it would have looked like you had lost more hair.
So here is the deal, you are probably now an N5, and you are only 26. I can't see all of your face, but you appear to be a decent looking guy, probably could grow a nice beard. Why don't you say "**** it", and just leave it?
Take the thousands and thousands of dollars you are going to spend over the next few years... and buy yourself a really awesome set of wheels?
Best,

Right on, going to the dermatologist tomorrow and hoping for a conversation that works in my favor. Not gonna lie, replicel looks a little sketchy for me. I don't really wanna be a guinea pig on anything.

Take the advice Stevedawg18 gave you. It looks like you've reached your final pattern of a NW6. Obviously this is an advanced pattern but it probably won't change very much now. The top of the sides might creep down a little bit more.
I don't see you getting any significant coverage back with any of the treatments. I can understand the psychological hit that you must have taken by losing so much hair so fast and so young, but if you learn to accept it and keep it buzzed short, it doesn't have to impact upon your life.

There are a lot of awesome, supportive guys who have gone through what you have, some, even younger.
Good luck man

I'm pretty bummed to read that I might be even beyond transplant status, but this is baldTRUTHtalk after all, and i'm glad to see all the responses.
