What does 30 grafts per cm2 in the hairline look like? Please post pics. :)
Hello there,
I am curious what 30 grafts per cm2 looks like in the hairline after a HT has fully grown in. Will members please post pics? I've been scouring the internet for pics, but I only found one pic. Sometimes 30-35 grafts per cm2 is the max a doctor will go (dense packing with 40+ grafts per cm2 is said to increase the risk that some of the grafts will not grow in). I know it will vary based on a number of variables, but I thought it would be useful for people to see what type of density can be achieved with 30g/cm2 in the hairline since that is likely the maximum density an initial transplant will add...
Best,

also curious - seems dense packing doesnt look as great as expected in some cases - even 25cm2 transplants

This says there was a study that showed using 50g/cm2 resulted in a 84% survival rate compared to 98% survival with 30g/cm2. So I'm not too surprised! Seems like it would be worth it to get 30g/cm2 then wait a year and thicken it up with another 30g/cm2 procedure.

Although it also says there was a study that found survival was as high as 98.6 % in a patient transplanted with a density of 72 FU per cm squared in on small test area... So I guess it depends?

I've had 50 grafts/cm2 and in some areas especially the hairline regrowth seems to be close to a 100%. In some other areas it's more like 80% so I guess its depends on a few factors not completely predictable. In any case 30 grafts/cm2 is pretty low density...

That's what I've heard. I am hoping to get a visual thought.

I think most surgeons go a bit higher than 30 grafts/cm2 in the hair line. Many times they will do two rounds.

Doctor Representative
This has alot to do mostly on your hair calibur. 30 will look good if your hair is coarse but 30 will still looking thin it your if you hair is thinner calibur.
