Sometime next year in Japan

Lee Buckler says next year in Japan and a few more years for US.

Wow
This is a huge deal! I don't understand how there haven't been 1000 messages in this thread since its opening. It's not just a rumor, it's the CEO saying this. He surely must be aware what these kind of statements imply for his company so hopefully there is a real chance.
Finally, I will visit Japan next year.

I just read this article this morning. How effective is this treatment? They claim to "put an end to baldness" , they better freaking deliver.
*Fingers crossed*

I was thinking "Ugh, another company just springs up out of nowhere and claims to have the answer, with no clinical trial process? Shut up.", but it's actually Replicel. I didn't see anywhere where the article mentioned 2018 though.

They are starting a clinical trial in Europe that will last 3 years so don't think this is next year. I'm trying to get a response from Shiseido on this.

Interesting. I'm curious if any of you who have been in this field much longer than I have think this seems promising or not. I'm sure there have been countless empty promises made over the years that amounted to nothing. At first glance, does this seem more legit, or just another article/study that won't amount to anything?

Buckler said the RepliCel’s technology should be available to the general public by sometime next year in Japan, though it may take several more years to see it on the market in the U.S. as clinical trials will still have to be completed here and the data submitted to the FDA,* though the 21st Century Cures Act (Cures Act) may help it along

Don't count on any fast track from the FDA, especially since many people, even people here, parrot the old canard that baldness isn't serious.
Only treatments for serious conditions have a chance to be fast tracked.
