comparison of my hair loss over a year and need some outside advice.

Hey guys i'm 25 now and its been a year since i last noticed the receding hairline, i made a choice at the time to let it progress naturally to see how quickly it would deteriorate without the aid of treatments. It has gotten worse over the year and have had to cut my hair short as tying long hair back started to look stupid and made me quite self conscious and with short hair i can pull it forward.

i am considering starting finasteride and minoxidill but obviously a bit nervous of the side affects of Fin which always pop up on the forum. I am also saving money up so if over the next few years it gets to a point where i would like a transplant, i can at least consider the option from a financial perspective.

my dad and his 4 brothers all have hair in their 50s, some thin some thick but no one is bald, and my mums side her dad passed away quite young but from the pics when he was in his early/mid 30s he had a high hairline with receded temples but still quite thick.

I don't think i have any thinning on the crown so far, could i assume this as a positive note, or will it inevitably start to thin?

any advice and outside opinions would be greatly appreciated.
