16 and going bald so early and very fast... Need help please!
Hey everyone, just signed up here
Im 16 and im completely screwed when it comes to genetics. My entire family has hair loss problems. My hairline was naturally weird since I was born but it has terribly receeded in the past 4 months. I do know the problem, though. I have been working out with a very high intensity and consistency. This leads to elevated testosterone levels, which means more DHT. My follicles were extremely sensitive to the increase in DHT and completely destroyed my hair. Im a narwood 2 atm. hair loss has literally made me depressed.
I have started using rogaine. My uncle who is a doctor said use 2% rogaine for a few months then start using 5%. I just hope this works and saves my hair or I might have to stop working out forever..
I have a question though.is it ok to use finasteride? Does my increased testosterone lvl from the gym cancel out its potential side effects?

I would consider adding Nizoral 2/3 times per week as your still young. Also maybe adding some topical formulation like Saw Palmetto etc.

I would recommend minoxidil 5 percent foam and nizoral ASAP
Omer?

I have decreased the amount of going to the gym from 6 days to 2. I have started using rogaine. What else should I use? Also will me taking finasteride be bad? I have elevated testosterone lvls due to the gym so can that possibly cancel its side effects?

Not going to the gym is a stupid idea in my opinion. Don't let it hold you back and prevent you from doing other things in life. Whether you go to the gym or not it isn't going to prevent the inevitable so you may as well continue as you were. It's unlikely that you'll go bald soon unless you're thinning all over so until you get to an age where your old enough and confident enough to use DHT prohibiters, settle with minoxidil until then.

Thanks for the reply. I have thinned all over, especially the hairline has receded.
