Hi, middle aged female in U.K., who in the space of 4 weeks has lost over half my hair and still coming out in handfuls. Like everyone else am sure, feel distressed, scared and isolated plus I have hair literally strewn all round the house. So just wanted to say hello and be part of a group of people who are in same situation...

Something must have happened to you, some kind of traumatizing event? Like 2 months ago?
-
Thank you, nice to be among like minded folk. Not sure what to do prevent loss other than minimal brushing, washing, no styling and had 4 inches cut of the length. Have been looking at what to take but would be glad of advice?
-
Can't really think,of anything obvious. Not really a stressed person until this started. All blood tests ok. Dread waking up seeing hair strewn all over pillow. Something everyone copes with presumably?
-
No but decided I need to....been looking online. Bewildering choice of things
-
Have you been eating a lot of liver or taken a vit A supplement?
-
No haven't done either. Should I be doing that or are they bad?
-
Vit A is essentiel for hairgrowth but too much of it can cause serious alopecia effluvium. What you are suffering now. Usually it regrows depending of the cause. But it will take several months to be noticeable.
