Default What will it cost me?

I have seen some good results with IAHRS members... I want to restore my hairline. Add some hairs to it...

The fact that this is hope to me is why I am doing this. I can't necessarily afford it or so but I might be able to save up some how... This is hope to me.

In case a cure doesn't come out I want this as a back up.

I am extremely insecure about this...

I can't afford it either. But I will make a plan! Begging, killing, robbing mugging...should not be that hard in this country. Could probably get away with it.

Nah, I will try to learn a skill and work hard at what I already do. All my money will go to what others get for free... O well...

    I think with feller medical 1000-1500 grafts = $5000-$7050

The problem is... traveling expenses... What do you guys think that will be? $2000 ?

This seems impossible... but at least there is a chance...

I just want to restore my hairline. I think my regimen might work for the vertex part of my head(it only started in the last year or so). The temples don't have much hope. I don't even think 1500 grafts is that much at all... but it's something...

Can 1500 grafts really even do anything appreciable?

Thanks for any input... I might post some pics later...

1,500 grafts could definitely make a big difference, particularly if you elect to have a FUE procedure in which the physician can select follicular units with high calculated density (the number of hairs per FU).

Here's an example of one of Dr. Cole's patients, at 9 months post-op, who had a 1,700-graft CIT/FUE procedure:

As far as travel expenses, it's very hard to say because of all the variables. You would be flying to New York from where?

You're obviously still very young so give yourself plenty of time (meaning years) to think about whether a hair transplant is something you want to invest in, both emotionally and financially. In the meantime, keep doing your research and seeing what the medical therapies can do for you.

Amazing result there. CIT_Girl, could you tell us what the cost is usually for a similar procedure so we have an idea?

From what I know FUE is very, very expensive.

No way I can afford that. But I guess there is hope...

    If I can afford it.

    Thanks for your responce CIT_Girl

I think it's around $8-$10 per graft. Very curious what Dr. Cole's rate is.

We charge $8 a graft for shaven CIT. However, we understand that a lot of individuals are experiencing financial hardships and, assuming that they are good candidates for HT surgery, Dr. Cole will occasionally offer discounted prices.

That is very affordable. I have read it to be much more expensive I think.

Still impossible to afford 1500 grafts that way. I think if I go towards surgery that it would be a strip procedure. Would such a procedure still yield good results?

There are definitely some highly skilled strip surgeons who can create fabulous results and natural hairlines. I would just never suggest that a young guy opt for a strip procedure because of the linear scar you will be left with. Dr. Cole will not even perform strip procedures on men under age 30. Strip scars can be very unpredictable, often stretch over time and leave you without the option of being able to wear your hair very short ever again.

The cost of FUE may not be as prohibitive as you think when you consider that you get more hairs per graft with this method. For example, Dr. Cole averages a calculated density of 2.93 hairs per graft, whereas strip doctors only average 2.00. This means that you are getting almost one hair more per graft of value for your money, or about 30 percent more hair in each graft.
