Beard = Balding?

Is there a correlation between growing a beard and receding? Now the reason I say this is because I've noticed that those individuals who are able to grow a full beard before the age of 20 pretty much all display a receding hairline.. then there's those who haven't a single hair on their face but have an intact hairline? Surely I'm not the only person who's noticed this.

Could this be due to high testerone levels in the body? As we know DHT causes hair loss yet it also plays a large role in puberty and the development of a man.

I don't think there is any real correlation as I see many men of all ages who have beards and full heads of hair. Beards are especially popular with younger guys these days so I see many examples.
